To some they dazzle
to others they shine
It knows not its own luster
yet is on it’s own time
Never having reason
nor care for this rhyme
to all it’s a mystery
quite kept in conceal
thy oldest of histories
time has yet to reveal
It is the epitome of beauty
but also of strife
It is the paragon of rarity
but also of rife
It is the quintessence of eternity
but also of life
It is the enigma of creation
but also of destruction
It is the paradox of perfection
but also of corruption
What is this stone that transcends all spheres
And captivates all who behold it
But defies its true nature
And impels us to unfold it?

A riddle rhyme of a complex shape That twists and turns in the dark But reflects the light in many ways A puzzle that intrigues the eye
It is made of simple forms and lines But arranged in a complex pattern It is colored with shades and hues But blended in a smooth gradient
It is the expression of creativity But also of logic and order It is the manifestation of beauty But also of chaos and disorder
It shares a theme with the poem The same idea that inspires us But it is not a poem or a stone Or is it? That’s the riddle
What is this shape that bends all rules And fascinates all who see it But challenges its true meaning And compels us to solve it?
If a war was raging, it's collectors walk right through it And a cease fire commences. No one dares to shoot through it, until those of power are clear.
If it is respect they deserve, serendipitously they found it thorugh fear Yet its the greed of the heart sitting on the pinnacle of humanity and all to revere.
If you know then you know, oh how pure it will glow
that tiny little pebble you bought out of love, they own way more than you will ever know for it was mined in defeat and dispair, and given the surname of 'Blood.'
